Colleges And Universities - St. Cloud
With an array of colleges and universities, the St. Cloud metro certainly values higher education. St. Cloud State University, which was founded in 1869, is located along the Mississippi River on a 100-acre campus. It is now Minnesota’s second largest university, having 16,000 students from 90 countries. Offering 175 different majors, minors, and pre-professional programs, St. Cloud State University is one of the most highly accredited universities in the upper Midwest.
The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, located in St. Joseph and Collegeville respectively, are nationally recognized Catholic liberal art colleges that share one academic program, with students using both campuses. The two campuses, sharing 3,200 acres, are located seven miles apart. Together there are 4,000 students and 200 academic courses.
St. Cloud Technical College offers more than 100 different educational options with varying program length, such as short-term certificates and diplomas, two-year Associate of Applied Science degrees.
Minnesota School of Business providing specialized career education programs by offering diplomas, associates, bachelor, and master degree programs. Rasmussen College, a private business college, also offers specialized career education in a variety of inter-related fields. While networked into their larger campuses, extension colleges have sites in St. Cloud: the College of St. Scholastica offers bachelor and master programs, while Bethel University offers bachelor programs.
Regency Beauty Academy and the Model College of Hair Design offer training for cosmetology careers. The School of Radiologic Technology has a 24-month radiography program that is sponsored by the St. Cloud Hospital. Finally Resource Training and Solutions provides professional training.
